    Johnson Ultra Ballast Puppies

Has anybody used these new pumps and have anything to report? I am planning an install with Jabscos and came accross these while finalizing my parts list...

I have johnsons on the way. They are not as common As jabscos, but the little I have found About them has all been positive, very positive. Built like tanks.

      Let me get this straight.

There have been two threads, each over a month long, starting in January. It is now April. 1500 views, 34-48 posts per, on Jabsco group buys. Authored and pushed by both of you, and now it is off to a different brand on one account and possibly on another? What did everyone else do? Was the research incomplete? Test results not in yet?
I don't get it. I mean do what you want, but what the heck have you been doing all this year? Clearly, it is time to ride and you have finally decided what you might go with? Not trying sound like a diack, but geez, it just isn't that complicated.

Yes, I did help organize a group buy on the jabscos. With the correct impeller, those are great pumps, and what I originally ordered. Mine were backordered, and then i saw the johnsons become available from the same seller. The johnsons have a little higher gpm and are also great pumps. I ultimately switched to the johnsons for the little better gpm and to get them a little faster, but I bought them from the same seller. Both are great pumps. The johnsons have a little higher gpm but not the patented auto shutoff if running dry, so there is a tradeoff. I chose the johnsons when circumstances made them available. Choosing the jabscos would have been fine too.

I'm in the same boat as Chexi, I went ahead to order and Jabscos were sold out because I organized such a successful group buy so I'm considering the Johnsons as an alternative... and I've been riding all year round so I'm not missing much except the convenience of an integrated system. I guess between work and putting 100 hrs on my boat since July, I haven't spent the necessary time planning
