SV 211 2006 Center ballast tank

My center ballast tank fills slowly with the the switch in the off position. It seems to be syphoning by the impeller. I have replaced the impeller but it did not fix the problem. For now, I just close the through hull valve to keep the water out. Any one have a fix for the problem? Thanks

I would think that the impleller for your pump is getting a bit worn and not fitting as tight as it did when the boat was new. Try replacing.

      Impeller for Pump

Funny...my center tank takes longer and doesn't seem to fill up all of the way. How difficult is it to replace the impellers on the pumps on the boat?

Also.....do you have to close the valves to ensure no water gets into the tanks when slalom skiing? Thanks

The impelloer is very simple to replace. All you need is a screw driver. Remove the three screws on the cover and change the impeller. I have already replaced mine but it did not fix my problem of water seeping past the pump into the tank when the switch is turned off..

My 2006 SV211 did the same thing, center tank would fill while slalom skiing. I contacted my local dealer and they installed a small ring around the filling port for the center ballast. It is supposed to create a small amount of turbulence around the port that prevents the tank from filling. Apparently Correct Craft issued a service bulletin related to the problem, so they did not charge me for the work. It was done at the end of the season last year, so I don't know yet if it fixed the problem. The repair kit also came with a new impeller, so they put a new green impeller on the center ballast tank pump. So, you might want to contact your dealer and ask them about the fix. Hope this helps.
