Forward Bilge Pump Location and Mount

    Hey all,

The PO of my 2002 SANTE apparently thought the forward bilge was not important and removed it. Anyone care to take a picture of where and how theirs is mounted so I can install a new one?

I can see the general area where it is supposed to be placed in the ski locker, but I did not see a pad like the rear pump is mounted on.

    Thanks for the help.

I have a 99 and I am pretty sure it is the same. No pictures, but it is just behind the inspection hole in front of the fuel tank. Not in the ski locker. The drain hose runs to the rear starboard side.

Interesting. Is it possible they could have changed in 2002? The area just in front of the gas tank is accessible through the ski locker in my boat.

The two other things that lead my to believe it is supposed to by there is that I have an unplugged wiring harness and an extra hose running to the starboard just in front of the driver. There are three thru-hulls in this location, one for the ballast empty, one for ballast vent, and the disconnected one that I assume is for the bilge.

You are right. I have an 03...assume would be the same. I actually just pulled mine out because I don't think it was working. Anyways it is in the floor locker...belly ballast area. Right in front of the fuel tank. It appeared it was supposed to be glued to the floor, but mine was just sitting there. Wiring harness similar to the rear and your correct a hose that goes out to the side of the boat.

You can buy any bilge pump, i got the Atwood just like the rear one from academy and spliced it into the old original wiring harness. Works like a charm.

If I work on my ballast system tonight, I will snap a pic of mine for you.

              Thanks guys.

I get very little water in the locker area so I'm wondering if it would even do any good to install a new one. Probably a smart thing to do though just for redundancy purposes.

Any suggestions as to what adhesive to glue it to the hull with?

well if you glue it to the hull....you might want to do it like the factory set up.

They took the plastic strainer thing off the bottom of the water pump...the part that you remove to clean out any junk that gets sucked in and clogs the filter and they screwed that to a piece of wood or fiberglass. then they glued that to the floor.

I guess you could probably use gorilla glue. In all honestly mine was sitting there perfectly fine with no glue b/c it broke off. So you probably would be fine with just putting it on something to help stabilize it better and leaving it down there.
