    My boat burped at me!

For the past few days I've smelled gas going in the garage. I thought it was a lawnmower because I just used them for the first time. Last night I wanted to find the source and just as I approaced my boat, it BURPED! A gush came out the breather port. Anybody ever experience that? My guess is that the fuel is expanding with the warm up.

Gotta get that boat on the water!

SkiTower - I've seen that happen as well on a friends SV-211. He filled it up in the evening last summer while temps were low and the next morning as it warmed up in the morning, it spewed fuel out of the vent. I'd say that is what is happening with you as well. I know a cold front moved in today, but at least we got some rain and winds last night to knock down the pollen. It is definitely time to get your beast back out on the water!!

How rude of your boat. You wash and waxes it and it burps. No it happened on my 211. It only happened once to me when I was around.

Your gas tank is too full. You need to leave a little air space for the gas to expand. Also if you boat is not level, front to back or side to side, depending on where the vent is plumbed into the tank, the air pocket in the tank moves away from the vent hose connection, and then the expanding vapors, now blocked from the vent, push liquid fuel out the vent line.
You might be able to help prevent this from occurring by loosening the gas cap, or caps a little so the O ring on the gas cap is no longer providing a tight seal. Then excessive vapor can vent out a gas cap, if the vent to the tank gets covered by fuel.
Gas running across decals, or the pinstripe will remove them, if not cleaned up immediately.
The gas will also remove the wax on the gelcoat, and discolor it.

yeah, that's my worry. When I get back home I'm going to try to take a little out.
