    battery short out

Hi guys i need some help here. I have a 2006 SAN TE. Tonight i had some real trouble starting my boat. first of all my battery went dead and would'nt start the engine so i went to swap the battery with my friends battery who has the exact same boat but something mad happened. Some how the battery on the left hand side if the boat shorted out and fried the terminal on the battery. I changed the connector and fixed it in position. When i go to start the boat now i get full power to the dash and everything works but when i put the code in a second time and press start nothing happens, no fuel pumps no nothing i can just hear a relay clicking on and off. Has anyone got any ideas of what my problem is?

Rite I have worked out what caused the short in the first place. The problem came when we were replacing my battery with my friends battery, the terminals on his battery were the other way around to mine and his battery way set in the same way mine came out and connectors put on that how it shorted accross to the other battery. I am getting full power to my dash and everything works there ok, I'm just not getting any power to the ignition systems. No power at fuel pump or anything.

I am a little unclear here, are you saying you swapped the positive and negative when you installed his battery in your boat? I hope not, that can fry the PME box, that would not be good!

what position was the battery switch in?
