Got out for my first time this year. I revamped the ballast system and got one to prime and the other not to. Figured out it needed to be moved lower, no biggie. Got the surf wake dialed, with just a swap of a sack to a 750 on one side, awesome. V-drive fluid got milky after running it a few hours. EEK. I did disconnect a hose to drain it last year, not the drain plug. I am hoping for just left over contamilated oil mixing with the new oil discoloring it. I did find the drain plug and went that route this time. Let it drain for about an hour and found some nondetergent 30wt oil. I did look it up and it said in 2 places in the manual that it needed 30 wt and one that said Dex III. I think I remember that it needs 30 weight correct? Is it a good chance that the old oil just contaminated the new oil to the point of looking really milky?(considering there was a bit left in there) How much would that take to make it be not see through? How likely could it be that the cooling water system going throught the V-drive could have breeched through freezing before I bought the boat. Just throwing out ideas.
Once again, I got it going just fine but the first time I shut it off, I could not start it again. I could get both lights on (the keypad) and all accessories would work (I think) but it would not start. I did smack the face of the keypad and after doing that a couple of times it did work and had no other incident this day. This is the same exact thing that happened last year the first times I used the boat. The keypad is suppoasbly new right before I bought it. I dont know if it is the keypad or not. Question about that, if the dead man switch is faulty, would it allow the fuel pump to prime the fuel system or not. I did not notice if that occured today, but will be on the lookout. I assume it will prime if the neutral safety switch is faulty. Any other ideas on what it could be?
I am planning of going back out foer another test run tomorrow. Please let me know your thoughts.
