Faria Depth Gauge with Hummingbird Puck and PP Water Temp

I'm thinking I may run into compatibility issues here, but was wondering if anyone has tried this.

I've got room in my dash pod for an extra gauge (was considering a faria analog clock). I was also considering upgrading my Teleflex/Hummingbird Depth Sounder so that I could have air and water temps displayed outside of perfect pass. The rest of the boat is obviously working too well if I'm considering this since everything but air temp is redundant of what I already have available.

So if I replaced the Hummingbird with the Faria Depth Sounder/Temp sensor, could I tap into the puck that is already mounted for the Hummingbird? Additionally, could I tap into the paddlewheel going to the Perfect Pass to pull a water temp signal. The paddle wheel is an airmar, so I'm guessing it is not specific to Perfect Pass.

Anyone tried this or know if it will work?

I emailed Faria. They suspect using the airmar paddle wheel that is used with perfect pass will work since they also use an airmar water temp sensor. However, they say that their depth gauge requires 235khz and the Teleflex gauge is only rated at 200khz. I also considered swapping out my paddle wheel with a through hull airmar depth finder and temp sensor (since I don't use the paddle wheel for speed anymore. However, the airmar through hull transducers are not low profile and I'd rather not do much to disrupt flow over the hull.

Since my depth gauge is fine, I may just look for a matching teleflex clock and keep getting water temp off my Perfect Pass.

I kind of feel like I'm having a conversation with myself, but ...

Does anyone have the Faria depth/water/air gauge with a thru-hull transducer. I was thinking that since Perfect Pass doesn't use the paddle wheel input anymore, I could swap that out for a thru hull depth transducer with water temp. Airmar says that these transducers require 2" holes, which is what the airmar from Perfect Pass used. This would make it a pretty easy swap.

So I says to myself, self ...

Here's the end result. I called Faria. Air Mar makes a special set of transducers for them that communicate at 235 khz. The standard one that comes with the gauge is 1 5/8". If you want to replace your perfect pass paddle wheel with one, you need to order it with part number SN0036A. Cost is the same. You also have to order the ambient air temp probe separately.

Thread over. Thanks for the replies.
