Ballast Guage

Hey Bros,

I have a 2002 Super Air TE and can't get my center ballast guage to work. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to trouble shoot the guage?

9 times out of 10, it will be a bad tank sensor. This is a common issue and should be an easy fix. Go to the tank that is not registering and remove the sensor. It should be a round plate affixed by a few screws located near the top of the tank. If the sensor is not obviously damaged, you can remove and plug in one of the other tank sensors to make sure it is not the gauge that is you problem.

A new upgraded stainless sensor will run about $50.

The ballast sensor is really easy to remove...

Just want to encourage you to try pulling out the center ballast sending unit (probably 5 ot 6 screws and attached via quick clips) then swapping with a good gauge. Keep in mind that the length of the sending unit may not be long enough for your rear ballast...but if it registers anything then you can rule it out.

As the previous person said...a new sending unit is probably about $50 bucks.
