obviously i need to have it tested, but could this be an issue?

May 2005) Pleasurecraft Engines has experienced higher than normal failures of the low pressure fuel pump (PCM Part #RA080018) in the past few months. Some fuel pumps have revealed signs of contamination, and others have revealed an internal problem. Most failures have been at start up, during dealer prep, or within the first few hours of operation. In an effort to minimize failures, the manufacturer of the fuel pumps has made an internal change.

If you experience a fuel delivery problem, perform the normal test procedures using the fuel pressure gauge. In this type of failure, if there is no fuel pressure and the low pressure fuel pump cycles when the key is operated, the low pressure fuel pump should be replaced with a new fuel pump referencing a date code of 5D or later. When installing the new pump, make sure you do not put too much thread sealer on the inlet side of the fuel pump.

See your local Correct Craft dealer for more information. This bulletin only applies to 2005 model year boats with low pressure fuel pumps that show a date code of earlier than 5D.

These are just numbers taken from distant memory, and a GT-40 service manual.
The low pressure fuel pump should put out about 5 to 6 psi, and it should flow about 60 to 75 gallons per hour. 60 gallon per hour, is a gallon a minute, and a quart in 15 seconds. This is way more than enough fuel to supply a 5.7 or 5.8 engine running 5000 RPM, at wide open throttle.

Again, you have to check the fuel pressure to make sure it is correct. Marine engines do not have feedback to the engine's computer for lean or rich conditions, and the engine's computer assumes the fuel pressure is correct.

For the price of a few sensors you replaced just guessing, you could buy a fuel pressure gauge.

i'm going to take it to my mechanic this week and that's the first thing i'm having him check along with that oil switch. i found a pic of it in the recall section on here. i don't have faith in myself enough to work on my boat w/o having someone show me hands on a time or two first.

I'm not sure about model year 05 vs 06, Where did you find that 05 issue published?

If your PCM serial number is 460000-461457 and your LP pump has a black dot on the wiring harness/plug, it is defective/recalled and needs to be replaced.

well i unhooked all 3 batteries for a while and just hooked em back and started the boat on the hose. engine light is off and does not kick into limp mode over 2000rpms, but after hitting stop, and starting it again the left guage either flashes low or once it did low oil pressure..no alarm and it goes off. i couldnt find the oil switch location in the manual and the pcm guy couldnt remember and their site was down while i was on the phone. could it just have gotton water in it and it's dried/drying out? i'm beginning to think it might def. be that oil switch. then again if i never heard of that issue i wouldn't say that. closest pcm shop is 3 hours and the few places i called here don't have a eng. diagnostic for my boat. ahhh!

i googled the part and found a thread off the old site that was pretty detailed. if i have fresh oil/filter can i run w/o the switch a few days until i get a new one? i know the level is good and the pressure is very good. i know the other thread said it's ok, but i want to double check that i won't have an explosion or catastrophic failure.

sounds like the iac or the oil pressure sensor

I'm 90% sure there is one switch for the alarm/ECM and one sender for the gauge. They don't talk to each other.

They should both be located down where the filter would be if it didn't have a remote mount filter.

thanks for the help on this. i ended up removing the compartment panel and located the switch. since i can't test pressures and stuff i am just going to suck it up and drive 3 hours to the dealer and get them to check it out and do a good inspection on the overall system since i'm up to 482 hours. i'll repost in a few weeks when i get it back.
