    SANTE floorboards without carpet

has anyone taken the snap in carpet out of their boat and then unscrewed and removed the snaps?

i'm thinking about unsnapping my carpet and just unscrewing and removing the snaps from the floor and just running the boat with the white floor. seems like it would be quicker to dry and easier to clean.

i'm wondering if the floor might get too hot. the grey carpet got a little white too though...

    i have a 2008 230 btw.

anyone done this? running it like this? any thoughts?

White fiberglass floors don't get hot. All center consoles I fish in are this way, and I rarely wear shoes.

ha ha. i guess i didn't even think about all the boats i've fished out of that have white fiberglass floors. guess that solves that issue and the carpet is coming out.

          Carpet

          FYI:

I ran the first year w/o carpet. I found that the white grip tape gets dirty very easy and is difficult to clean. So...I'm running with carpet this year.

I run mine a lot without the carpet in it. It is very easy to clean. I use wesleys bleach white and a brush then rinse it out. I haven't removed the snaps though.

My one got carpet . Quality deck carpet on a boat helps to protect the fiberglass boat deck and cockpit, while providing added comfort for crew and passengers. Unfortunately, deck carpet takes a beating from a marine environment and often has a short lifespan. Exposure to harsh sun and water, combined with typical outdoor wear and tear on a boat, will inevitably result in a need for replacement deck carpet.
