    Fuel gauge stuck on empty

I noticed last year my fuel gauge sticking a little but this year it is stuck on empty. I read on some older post it may be the ball on the fuel sensor, in the tank, that is stuck. Anyone ever changed one of these out? Have any step by step directions? ---96 sport nautique GT-40

easy to do - just did one. You can get the part pretty cheaply from White Lake Marine and do it yourself in about 20 minutes. It drops in from the top of the tank -

Look fot e 2 wires at the top of the tank

I second the last post. It is just several screws to remove after you expose the tank. When you buy the new one you will see exactly what the top looks like sticking out of the tank. You can also ask them about how to access the tank . Get a new gasket if one doesn't come with the sender unit. Also you don't have to really crank the screws down. Over itghtening them may warp the gasket. Tighten it like you would lug nits on a tire. I usually go snug plus 1/4 turn.
