Rear Trunk Latch 2002 SANTE

I have a 210 2002 Sante and here is the deal. Either I am losing my mind or I dont know how to open the center compartment on the back of my boat. The 2 sides panels I unlock and open from side to side no probem, but the middle one seems to stay locked. If i pull up on it hard it opens. Can someone tell me if there is a nother button or pin to unlock the center part.

I have a 03 and there is no switch / actuator for the center engine compartment. It should just unlatch when you pull up on the strap. Sounds like you have a problem.

I also have an '02 SANTE, and Shooter's right, there is no electric lock or actuator to open the center engine hatch lid. To open the center hatch takes both hands. While pressing down on the lid with my left hand right in front of the pull strap(kneeling on the rear seat facing aft), I pull up on the strap with my right hand all in one motion and the latch releases.

Try that, and hopefully it works.

Its not hard to open with one hand. Grab the strap and give the cushion a whack with the palm of your hand, then immediately pull up

I have the same issue on my 02 SAN. Just push down a little right by the strap and while maintaining a downward pressure on the hatch, pull the strap and it should unlock. Trying to pull the strap from the rear bench without pushing down will make opening the lid very difficult!
