I have some oil on the floor carpet of my boat. I had a guy come out with a steam cleaner, but it still has residue. Lets hear the best ways for me to get it out other than replacing the carpet! Thanks!

Use Dawn dishwashing detergent, and a nylon brush, and scrub. Follow with gentel
pressure wash, repeat as necessary.
Now do the same to the rest of your carpet, because it will be dirtier than where the oil spill was.

Bummer. We had this happen to our club 196 behind the drivers seat and it was a nightmare.
Do not let it sit. Immediately go after it as mentioned above or the oil will dissolve the carpet glue and the carpet will come up. I have no idea how much you spilled but "someone" spilled about a half a qt. in ours and it took constant attention to get all of it out. Hot water did help to lift it along with a professional extractor. We had a small section come up and we ended up silting the carpet and cleaning off the fiberglass below with break cleaner and then injecting glue and pressed it down with a roller and then weights. Looks perfect now but it was a ton of needless work.2018 200 Team H6
