    1996 ski nautique throttle problem

hi guys just took the boat out for the first time last week! we had a great time on the water however at the end of the day we had some problems with the throttle. its kinda hard to explain but the throttle was really loose and coming out of the side of the boat. it never accualy came out but it was far enough away that when you wanted to give the boat some gas nothing happen. it seems like the only problem is a skrew is loose or something. i have never seen this happen before so to say the least im a little lost. any help would be really appreciated!

We had a similar issue with a loose throttle when we went out for the first time this year in our 98' Sport. Our issue was solved by tightening the screw on the backside of the throttle mechanism. If you climb under your dash and look up at the backside, the screw should be in easy to spot.

Set Screw on botttom of handle

There is a set screw in I believe American allen size that holds the handle onto the spline hub. Push the handle in and tighten the set screw. If you want to take the handle off you have to remove the Phillips screwthat holds the neutral button in place. Remove the button and slip the throttle handle off the hub.

If you put a little lock-tite on the allen set screw it will lessen the chance of it happening again.
