    1993 Sport 5.8L 351 voltage problem

Needing some serious help here. Recently had my alternator rebuilt. Put it back on last night and I am getting too much voltage. Engine will run for about 30 seconds until it trips the 50A breaker on the back of the engine. When I put the key in the run position the voltage reads around 11 volts, but as soon as it starts the voltage reads around 15-16 volts, which I am assuming is causing the breaker to pop and immediately shuts down the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

93nautique is right the field windings are grounded causing it to put out max voltage. Check your connections if they are correct take it back to the re builder.
