    2000 air nautique keypad problem

I just bought a 2000 air nautique from an auction and it never came with a start code, i called my local dealer and they gave me the factory embedded code and i even found it written on the inside of the steering wheel center cap. however the code is not working, the dealer told me that either the keypad could be bad or it has already been replaced and they programmed a new code rather than the factory code, which would be really stupid. Since the new keypad is $900 is there any other way to bypass it?? I would really like to make sure this boat is good and all before i drop another 900 on a keypad. thanks.

i think the newer ones have a factory code that can never change and a programmable code that you can change, not sure about the 2000's though.

yes they all came with factory imbedded codes, and dealers can get them thru your boats serial number, and they did for me, but it doesn't work, so basically my keypad is not working or it has been replaced and the idiot who replaced it didn't use the original factory imbedded code when initializing it.

Does anyone know how to bypass the keypad???

Keypads are anywhere from $340 to $380 from White Lake. When we had to replace the keypad on our 2000, it was $380 I believe.

just replaced mine through white lake, around 380. Best to go ahead and bite the bullet and keep it like it was from the factory.

please let me know how that goes for you, since i just spent 500 on a new keypad and it still does the same thing i'm frustrated. I guess its the breaker box?? does anyone know if theres any other boxes other than the breaker box that runs the dashboards in these boats??

                  Keypad probs....

I have a 2000 Air Nautique in which the key pad has neveer worked. I had the leypad replaced and still no luck!! Does anyone have any suggestions? My boat is essentially unlockable with the key pad so i have to use other means.....

Sorry maybe I should explain a little more. The keypad works in that I can start and stop the engine just fine. I cannot seem to lock it with the numbers on the pad. The accessory pad works flawlessly. Is there one master code or many?
                      Thanks for the responses...
