Battery Charger & Jump Pack ?

A neighbor who borrowed my battery charger left it at his former in-laws and would rather pay me for it than retrieve it (wimp :-). Any recommendations on one to get? Primarily for spring charge-up, occasional mid-season charging. Also planning to get a jump pack after a couple of dead battery instances last year after the boat sat for too long in it's slip.

    Thanks,

i have the 7002 series and it charges pretty much every kind of battery. charges my 3 bank optima's in a few hours. and they can be left on the charger in a vented area for a long time.

        Solar 2500 Jump Pak

Here is the Jump Pack I've had for 5 years. Its commercial grade and you can replace the parts to keep it going forever. I ran my 2000 SN for 1/2 a day on it when my battery died and had to get home. http://www.mytoolstore.com/clore/booster.html As far as a Charger goes I have a small trickle charger I use when the boat is not in the water to keep the battery fresh. For a full blown charger i would get one that goes to at least 30 amps

I bought a charger from a snap-on van (bluepoint I think!) about four/five years ago. It's been great, it has a few choices for charging modes like 2 amp manual, 2 amp auto, 15 amp auto and so on. Another selection is 'start mode' that has been invaluable, for the odd jump start. It says to connect it for about ten mins then start the vehicle while still attached, all good as long as you have a power outlet nearby.

Thanks everyone. Thing that scares me about ctec is that the only place that sells them locally is Interstate Batteries. Then again, maybe they figure their batteries are so bad that they need a really good charger to go with 'em.

The Interstate guy by me sells Optimas and the Ctek charger is the recommended charger for Optimas. I heard from someone that works for Ctek that someone at Optima decided that they should come up with a charging system that is optimal for their batteries.. So they did and branched out with a new company called Ctek.. I've got one charging my bank of Optimas and it works perfectly.. I just plug it in when I get back to the dock and forget about it. Same for the winter time too.
