    Port Ballast will not fill!!

Looking for a little help or suggestions on why my Port Ballast side on my 2003 SAN will not fill with the pump. If I drive it with the valves open it will fill slowly...but it will not fill with the pump. I did replace the pump with a new one and I can hear it run just will not fill up. Any help would be great.

*Also I am thinking now that I didn't need to buy a new pump!

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I'll be working on it this weekend and will report what I found on mine.

Last year I finished up a project on my 03 SAN, replacing the hard tanks and installing the 750 lbs. Fat Sacs. When I tested the new electric valves, my port side fill pump wouldn't work. I thought I may have done something to the pumps when splicing in the wire for the valves, but it turned out to be trash in the pump/fill line. I used a Shop Vac attached to the fill line to blow out the debris and all was good.

I had that problem with my starboard tank and the problem was just as simple as the impeller needed changed.

Dave - unless he has replaced the pumps the 03 SANs use the aerator style pumps, which don't use impellers.

Prime the aerator pump by putting the boat in gear while filling the tank, you force some H20 into the intake grates and it always seems to speed up the process

having the same problem, will fill if the boat is moving only, i'm thinking trash because when i park the boat in storage i can turn on the port pump and it sounds off like it's sucking air, turn it off and the starboard on and it is much more faint like it can't pull as much through it, i'll try the cleaning out the line first, sounds like an easy fix if that is it
