Any assistance would be appreciated
Boat in question;- 210 SAN (2001 model)
Engine PCM 351 GT-40.
Issue
Start button on the key pad will not get boat out of lock mode. Cannot engage run mode or starter motor.
No power to any of the gauges on the boat. Regardless of codes entered or start button pressed.
Power is at the key pad given the horn and blower functions work.
If any of the numbers on the key pad (1,2,3 or 4) are pressed the “system indicator light” below the number 4 operates while the number is pressed.
The system indicator light does not come on after the “Master Embedded Code” has been entered and the start button released.
Have tried changing primary and secondary user codes but the problem still exists.
If holding buttons 1&4 or 1&3 down together the system light flashes when the buttons are pressed. Once released the system light stops flashing.
The start button if pressed will activate the dash back-lighting for 10 seconds. (The button works this function only)
Covering all bases
The battery has been checked
Circuit breakers are not tripped.
The bilge pump switch near the drivers kickboard is in the on position.
Point of interest. After operating the bilge pump switch a number of times while trying to trouble shoot the problem the switch operated the starter motor for a fraction of a second. It only happened twice and I can not replicate this again. (I literally mean a fraction of a second)
My thinking so far is it is most likely the 3 way switch for “Run”, “Off” and “Bilge” or the key pad has failed. Any heads up on what the problem could be? Or further things to check? Is this a common problem?
