2001 Air Nautique Water Strainer leak

Does anyone know if the actual angle/position of the water strainer matters? Got my 2001 Air ready to go last week but noticed a slight leak at the water strainer and it appears to be the plastic 90 degree elbow that feeds into the port side of the water strainer. Must have worked it a little loose when I winterized it but because that sides right up against the exhaust manifold there isn't much room to tighten it. Tried to adjust the other side to position it but than that side leaks ever so slightly. I have both sides tight currently but that changed the angle of the strainer from its normal position to it being somewhat inverted. Looking at it from the port side it normally sits at about 4 or 5 o'clock but now its maybe 2 o'clock. Not thinking it matters but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Mine does the same thing...It's a little off of perfectly vertical and when it's tight it sorta blocks the FlushPro, but it works and there aren't any leaks. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

i was told by someone on here who is reputable on here, airtool i think, that position of strainer does not matter, it will still work, but the obvious best setup is vertical so the cup is like it's sitting on a table.
