Oil Pressure Test
The engine Oil Pressure will be easy to test. The fittings are just 1/8" NPT (pipe thread). You can get those type of fittings anywhere (Parker Store if you have one close) and I suspect that your gauge kit you bought has provisions for NPT.
The sender would be the best place to check the oil pressure. With the engine OFF remove the larger oil pressure sender. This is the one for the gauge. The little one is the low pressure switch for the fuel injection computer, if the engine is running and the little one is without pressure the engine will go into limp home mode.
Screw your gauge kit into the fitting left vacant when you removed the sender. You might loose a little bit of oil when you remove the sender but it wont be much. Stuff some rags under the sender location before you start and then you wont have a mess.
Start the engine and you should see oil pressure on your gauge. I would expect at least 15 PSI at idle but it will probably be more like 40. Some people will disagree with me here but I like to put thread tape on a sender when I put it back into the fitting. I have been told that this can interfere with the sender getting a good ground. I suggest that you start taping about 2 threads back from the tip of the sender, this way you get a good ground and good sealing.
As for the transmission, you're on your own there. I imagine there is a test port on there somewhere but I have never looked for it.
