    oil leak

i have 206 with 350 hrs, 2 yrs old and it sits in saltwater mooring

I have develpped a small oil leak looks like its coming from lowest point in oil pan

access is v difficult using mirrors etc but the drain hose looks and feels still secure but maybe the fitting is corroded??

    anybody had this issue

mechanic says he need to pull engine with g/box is this recommended or best to leave in g/box

any comments welcome thanks to fix this problem

Had this happen on my 05 196 w/zr6 and our club 196 w/excal. Both had small oil leaks at the fitting for the quick drain oil kit where it attaches to the pan. On my boat the dealer had to "lift" the engine to access the fitting and on the club boat we were able to do it in place.
Are you sure you can't access it to give it a 1/4 turn?

      thanks

so you think the nut may be loose (instead of corrosion) and could you get a socket set / spanner in the gap did this did it solve yr leak
      was yr boat in salt

Yes the fitting was lose on both boats, neither was in salt. Yes to the spanner on the excal, no on the zr6.

I notice there are 3 nuts. One large one going directly into oil pan, one small one at end of rubber hose under the pan and the other on opposite side of rubber hose screwed into large nut. which one was typically loose

          thanks laurie
