I usually find a local marine store and buy whatever they have in stock in the size I need.

There are a couple of threads about tire replacement. I replaced mine with Goodyear simply because my first set lasted me over 5 years and were still fine, except for one that I got a nail in the sidewall and had to replace - so I just replaced them all.

Most tires will last, as long as you keep them inflated to the proper pressure and maintain the bearings and brakes. Heat kills a tire faster than most anything - except for running over something.

Usually boat trailers are made in about the same year as the boat was. There is no huge warehouse with lots of boat trailers sitting around in it waiting for someone to buy a boat.
Your tires are probably about 4 or five years old.
Like MikeC said, tires are killed by heat. Number one reason tires get too hot, underinflation. Number two, and three, overloaded, and excessive speed.

I always have had good luck with Goodyear Marathon tires. A tad bit more, but worth it IMO. Also, try to buy (fresh) tires. You will have to research what the codes tell you on the side of the tire. You should be able to find out year of manufacture. Some warehouses have tires that were made 2-3 years ago and selling as brand new. Probably would have no problems, but just worth a lil research to get good ones (IMO).

Just picked me up some Goodyear Marathons off of Discount tire online. 89.00 a piece (3x) since i already bought another one exact model at walmart for 115.00, wanted to have a spare quick. Free shipping, and 12$ lifetime warranty per tire for road hazard. They even covered the one i bought at walmart. What the **** for 12$ per tire, i should be able to get my money back on 1 road hazard claim. If anything happens to tire that renders it useless, call them and they send out another one. out the door way head than buying local forsure. So i'll have new tread on all 4.. What a way to start the boating season out. But now i know im covered for a while, at least i hope! Thanks guys..

Just make sure the Goodyear marathons you have were made in the US or Canada. The ones made in china had all sorts of issues. It states right on the sidewall where they were made.

Tires came in. Ordered them yesterday and were here by 100pm. they even included valve stems. All tires were made in USA. We shall see how things hold up. Discount tire online was great! saved me 80$ from buying local.
