I tried it, but the bottle jack I had was wouldn't fit. Instead, I put a 4x4 across several rafters in my garage. Used a chain and a come-a-long to raise it just a bit.Promo Team member

no I'm not talking about a drain hose i would have said drain hose.
I said OIL PICK-UP TUBE that is attached to the oil pump which is cover by the oil pan and stickes below the main bearing journals.
No I did't jack up any thing but it was on a 79 model too.
it's not an easy job and if your a novice, which I feel you are, you don't need to try and remove it while it's in the boat.
Why are you wanting to remove it anyway?

oil leak
I am trying to avoid taking engine out of boat as i have small oil leak at lowest point in sump (corrosion) my mate jacked the engine forward a few degrees and removed oil pan and replaced with new.
on the 2007 206 model it looks like a case of just removing the small bolts and the pan comes away.

On a truck, I needed to change the oil pump because the pick up tube fell off. I slid the tranny back and removed the flywheel. Then I dropped the pan, reached in with a wrench and dropped the oil pump. Then pulled it all out. Then put the new pump in the pan and slipped it all under the engine. Then bolted the pump on, then the oil pan, then the flywheel and the tranny.
p.s. I was 19 years old .... didn't trust mechanics and had no money.
