Guys-
On my '01 Pro Air I removed the transom decal that said "Official World and National Wakeboard Tow Boat" and am replacing it with the new "Nautique" chrome style decal.
It was a black decal on white gel and left some pretty noticeable fading from where the letters were. I expected this.
So I hit the area with a rotary buffer w/wool pad and some fairly aggressive cutting compound. This really didn't do much at all. Still noticeable fading.
So I moved on to wetsanding, with 800 grit. This has helped a little but it is not having the effects that I thought it would. I am working the area very hard w/minimal results. In fact, In one area I believe I got a little to aggressive and sanded too much of the gel off.
Any suggestions? Am I stuck w/the fading as it has impregnated too deep? I wetsanding my whole boat last year and taking scratches out was way easier than trying to get this fading out.
