BHHog:
I have ordered a number of gas shocks from NautiqueParts.com (White Lake Marine), including a glove box shock. Their customer service is off the hook and they ship fast. There is a link to their site on the main page of the forums and you get a discount for being a member of Planet Nautique.
I highly recommend them.
the discount code is PND and here is a link to some info about them.

White Lake Marine has them.
West Marine has them (not sure if you have this store in TX).
Otherwise you can order them direct through Attwood:

The glove box ones are 20 lbs force.

I bought a 30lb 7.5" shock from this guy: strut-your-stuff@clearwire.net
He sells struts on ebay, I bought it directly from him. It works significantly better than the factory unit. I also relocated the lower stationary ball mount so it doesn't snap down on unsuspecting fingers like it does with the factory location. Moved the ball as low as possible in the glove box so it is constantly pushing up on the lid. Works much better now. I don't mind the extra screw holes inside my glove box.
