    Fat Sac Question.

Just wondering if anyone has done this before? I was thinking about my new boat on order (heck that's all I think about) and was wondering if I could put a sac in the Back compartment on the drivers side and have it hooked up to the factory ballast system. I was thinking of having a valve so I could leave it off except when I surf, open it then and have the factory system fill it along with the factory tank. When I finish I would open the valve again and let it drain the sac by way of the factory system.

Has anyone ever done this before or is it even possible?

I was thinking the same Fatboy for surfing...
We've got a 2000 SAN with rear ballast and I was thinking a system which using the standard pumps... Not sure how though.

Does the ballast has a sepperate vent and drain port (on a 2000, I'm pretty sure the 2005 has got it)?

I've thought about that before with our '02 Air. The problem I came up with is that the balast would only fill to a level even with the vents. If you tried to fill it above that level it would just drain out the vents. You could get around that problem, but then it wouldn't just be factory any more.

I was thinking you could tee into the fill line for that tank and add a cutoff valve in the new line to the fat sac as well as one to the ballast tank. When the factory tank is full just close off the valve to the ballast tank and open the one to the fat sac. After it fills close that valve off so it will not leak back and surf away. Once you are done just open the valves and let everything drain out thru the system. You would normally keep the valve to the fat sac closed and the one to the tank open for normal operation.

I may be way off base with this, just wondering if anyone had ever tried it before.
