Throttle stiff after winter

Hi

I just ran the boat this weekend, after having it sit for the winter. Every thing is fine, and start-up was perfect. However the throttle is very stiff when putting the boat into forward gear. Backwards gearing is fine, but forward gear is the issue. It will go into gear, but with way more effort than should be necessary. Any suggestions??
