Just talked to Bill @ Acme and told him that I just found a ding on my prop (Acme 380) and thought it might be a good time to pick up a new one and make the 380 a spare. Here are the specs I gave him:
Wakeboard ~ 60%
Surf ~ 20%
Cruise ~ 15%
Tube/Ski ~ 5%
I usually have 4 or 5 people in the boat and (eventually) will run about 1600 lbs of ballast (1k in the rear, 600 in the bow). I was also concerned about losing too much top-end and killing my fuel economy.
He suggested a new prop that Acme is now manufacturing called the 1248. He said it's the same spec as the 536, but runs better. The second choice for me would be a 1236 and the third (most aggressive) choice would be the 1464.
Has anyone used the new 1248 yet? I know the 536 was the stock prop on SANTE's, but I can't seem to find ANY info about the 1248, not even on Acme's site.
