I have a 2002 SAN and when I'm out, I sometimes have a problem accidentally bumping the throttle from forward to reverse and it sounds harsh on the tranny. I thought there was a locking system so I didn't have this issue. I was out on my buddy's 2003 SAN and I noticed that it locked when in neutral and you had to lift the ring in order to move the throttle in forward or reverse. I checked my throttle ring to see if it was stuck or wasn't engaging and I could lift it normal and when I release, it went back to the normal position, but still no lock in neutral.
What can I check or adjust so it will lock when in neutral? Just don't want to screw up the tranny by not having the lock working.
