    SPEEDOMETERS AND GAUGES (Replacement Restore????????)

    I didnt think when I started this project on my 1970 Ski Nautique that the stringer and floor work was going to be easier than getting my dash looking new and crisp. My old chrome is pitted and gauges all are working but dont look so hot. I been searching for newer ones with a retro look with no success. So I am hoping that someone out there has a suggestion on how to get this worn out dash looking good;

    Where to restore old ones or a manufacturer of new retro looking ones. What have you done?

      Marc,

      These guys have been mentioned on CCF a few times.

      Speedo's

      I am in the middle of doing a 67 Nautique myself, and will have to get my Airguides restored. However, mine are broken and missing the needle etc. You can get the glass from a laboratory supply company and drilll out the adjustment pin hole.

      As far as your other gauges, these are very close matches and I used them on my wife's 68 Mustang.

      You are probably stuck on the tach. Both of my originals work fine.

      I would like to see some pics of the entire project. I have my 67 restrung, and the motor aspect started. I will have to completely rebuild my interior, but have the originals to go by, as well as a very detailed photo essay on the process from another's project. I am not planning on re-gelling, I am going to wet sand as nicely as I can, fix a couple cracks, and let her buck. What motor is in yours? 318? I am building up a somewhat modded 340 Chrysler for mine.

      That vintage of boat is much more widely discussed on CCFan. you can get a ton of help there. Far more restoration knowledge there.

      Again, post pics !!!
