I was slaloming last night when the boat suddenly went to idle. All guages (oil pressure, temp) were fine so I shut zero off down and tried driving home. The boat ran 35mph for a minute or so then dropped to idle. I tried speeding up again and the same thing happened. I checked the raw water strainer and there was a little dirt but nothing clogging. Mechanic can't get me in for a couple days. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did the warning light come on???
Maybe low presure pump failure.
Intermitent los of power at the PME. I would check that one first. loose power or ground wire on the side of the PME,
Also check the battery terminal ends.
Also it is not called limp mode any more but called power reduction when a serious code is set or failure of oil pressure or the switch, or the water temp switch. Oil pressure switches are notorious for causing havock, check the wire to that switch or unhook it and see if your problem goes away.
Emergency saftey switches and their circuts can cause problems.
Recently I had a 05 SuperAir that would trip the ignition power breaker in the PME. I found a ground wire had come off of one of the balast tank gauges and shorting out on the switched power (purple wire) side of the gauge.
