    Faria Gateway Box Mounting Location

Our club has a 2008 206 and I'm going to hook up the PP Switch to the Faria Gateway box. I'm curious where this is mounted so I can save some time and don't have to hunt it down when I get to the lake.

    Any clues would be great!
    Thanks

It should be mounted right on the other side of the driver's footrest. I had to remove my footrest when installing Stargazer, and I'm assuming you'll have to do the same. It's only three screws, so it's an easy process.

FWIW, My 05' 206 has the box mounted in the trunk, center rear, basically under the lift ring, behind a black plastic cover.

Also FWIW, before layup I R&R the water pickup lines from the back of the Gateway Box to ensure no water is still there and will back up into the circuit board. If 08' has no pitot's then no worries there.

I stand corrected. I'm sure it's still located in the trunk on the 206. The footwell must be exclusive to the 196? I imagine the only additional step would be to run the wiring under the gunwale?

Every gateway box I've seen on the 196 and 206(up through the 05s) has been under the black plastic cover in the trunk.

I may be wrong - it's been awhile since I hooked mine up, but I don't think the pp switch hooks to the gateway box. It should hook to the perfect pass module which on my boat is under the dash - but it may be different on the '08 - mine's an '03

My '07 is up at my feet. I'm not sure what year they started doing that?

I think it depends on if you're using the PP Digital Pro that resides within the gateway, or are using something like Stargazer, that has an additional master module? My brother's '07 switch is coming out of the gateway, and he is using the onboard digital pro.

I have the Faria manual for the gateway in a pdf. file that might help. On page 20 and 21 it shows the PP setup. I can email it to you. Post or PM me you email addy...

I am suprised on a 08 you are running perfect pass. Are you trying to plug in a rope switch? in 07 their was a harness that came out of the Gateway that had all the connectors for smart timers and a rope switch. hopefully the harness is in the boat however if you have smart timers just follow the wire to the adapter harness then you will find the plug for the rope switch.

This is where mine is located, 2006 206. I mounted the Stargazer module high on the kick panel next to the Gateway.

I'll check the trunk and if it isn't there then check at the drivers feet panel. I've got the Faria manual and the cable adapter to hook up the magnet switch so we can easily verify the course times.
                          Thanks all for the help.
