I have been looking through a number of past threads for propeller recommendations for my SV-211 Team Edition, which is fitted with the ZR6 375hp motor. Unfortunately, most threads seem to refer to the 330hp Excalibur so I'm looking for a little help from any ZR6 owners out there.
My current prop is the 816 (13.5"x17.5"x.150cup) which revs to approx 5,050rpm at WOT, running almost 47mph - full fuel tanks, empty ballast, driver only. This gives relaxed cruising revs, is adequate on hole shot when lightly loaded but a bit slow out of the hole when running with full factory ballast and 2/3 adults & 2/3 children.
I am looking for something which will give a little more hole shot but without running too many revs. I primarily use the boat on a small lake for wakeboarding but occasionally want to be able to do a mix of cruising, skiing & wakeboarding on trips away.
The 1234 (14.5"x14.25"x.105cup) seems popular but I feel would be too high revving for cruising or skiing. The 644 (13.25"x16"x.105cup) has been recommended by Acme and gets good reviews here but, again, mostly from Excalibur owners. Other alternatives could be a 380 (13.5"x17.5"x.105cup), 536 (13.5"x16"x.105cup) or even a 1588 (14.5"x16"x.135cup), the latter also suggested by Acme. I am somewhat unsure about going for the larger diameter prop as some posts have suggested that they upset the wake for skiing but am also concerned that the 380 or 536 might not be significantly different from my current prop.
The 644 is supposedly the Team Prop but I am unsure whether this is the case for ZR6 boats - would this be a suitable choice for my boat or would it run up to the rev limiter too easily? I would therefore be grateful for any input from current or past owners of SV-211 ZR6s.
I also found that there is a general lack of detailed information on prop choices, so if it is any help to other owners considering an 816 my current prop runs the following rpms / mph:
650 4.0
1,000 5.7
1,250 6.8
1,500 7.7
1,750 8.3
2,000 10.2
2,250 14.0
2,500 22.4
2,750 26.3
3,000 29.4
3,250 31.9
3,500 34.5
3,750 36.8
4,000 39.0
4,250 41.1
4,500 43.1
4,750 44.8
5,000 46.3
5,050 47.0
0-30mph is approximately 6.8 seconds.
Fuel economy when wakeboarding / kneeboarding approximately 2.6-3.0 imperial mpg (2.2-2.5 US mpg) or 3.6 imperial gallons per hour (3.0 US gallons per hour).
