Ramlin Trailer Steps

I had spent sometime looking for ideas on how to repair my rotton carpeted/wood trailer steps.

I ended up using 4'x10' exterior rated glued doug fir plywood and made it look like teak strips.

Hope this can help others with the same issue.

Looks great! I hope that they don't delaminate. At any rate, it looks better than factory, and probably will last longer.

I like that alot! How much time did you have in doing that?

I was given a router for Christmas, and this was my first usage so things could have gone better. I used a flush cut with a baring bit to cut out the wood by using the old as a template, then sanded with 200 grit so it would still have some grip, then used a V-groove bit for the fake joints. With staining probably around 8 total hours over a period of a week. Costs about $150 with the new V-Grove bit and Slickens synthetic stain.
Not too bad when compared to using dimond plate or other options.

That is really nice. My prior boat had a ramlin trailer with the carpet, I liked the trailer, but not the carpet.
