94 Sport won't start need help

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a 5.8 Pro Boss Carbureted. It's been fine all week and we were about to pull the boat out and head home and now it won't start.

If I hold the ignition I can rev the engine and everything seems fine but as soon as I let go of the key it dies. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Classic symptom of a disconnected or loose safety lanyard. I'd check that first.

I'm an idiot. I checked several different things before checking this thread again. The lanyard was loose. Vacation saved
