    Replace GT-40 with ZR engine?

I've been toying with an idea in my head recently about the possibility of replacing a GT-40 engine with a ZR engine. Has anybody done this? What is everyone's thoughts? Is it even possible? I have a 2000 Ski and am just exploring options other than buying a new boat sometime in the future. I primarily barefoot and from what I hear about the newer boats, the top end speed isn't that high (low 40's) and I would like to stay with Nautique.

I don't see why you would want to.

You can build that gt40 up for less money and hassle than replacing it with a GM motor. Plus, if you were to pull the ford motor, it would be less reliable than it is now.

        GT40 to ZR

I agree w/ horkn - spend a third of the cost of a ZR and get a very healthy, reliable motor that will last a long time. You would also have more costs involved than just the motor.
