Need Mastercode for my 226

My new to me 226 sport Nautique isn't accpeting the code the dealer gave me to start it. I remember them saying I could get it with the VIN if I called the service dept., but of coarse they are closed and we want to use the boat tomorrow. Is there any way to get the master code from the web?

Try just pressing the "Start" button to see if the ignition comes on and pressing start again will crank the engine. If no primary user code has been set, you don't actually need a code to start the boat. In fact, not sure (in this condition) the master embedded code will do anything but allow programming the primary code...not sure on this.

Also, on my 2006, you have to have the lanyard connected to get the guages to come on after pressing the start key once.

ps - be sure your toggle switch is "all on"

Just follow the directions in your manual for either 1) clearing the primary/secondary codes or 2) programming a new primary code .....and then you'll know whether or not you have the master.

If you do 1) and it works, then you won't even need a code to "start". You will have to pick a new primary code (you didn't know the old one anyway) and set it up so the lock feature is restored.

Hioefully this doesn't cause you a huge pain in the butt. A great tip I picked up on this site was to input a 2nd code using different buttons to skip this issue if need be

Yeah I'm hoping that my code is not the master and hoping the master does not use the same button. I am installing a bypass for the keypad anyway but had lots of rain last few days so not had chance to fit it yet. Would rather use the keypad and just have the bypass for emergency's. Thanks

@hyparks - on our boats, the master embedded code is stored in the box and not in the keypad like the newer boats. It is a permanent code and has to be obtained from Correct Craft through your dealer (or Jeff) probably as insurance against theft.
