Heater wiring

I have an 03' Super Air. The problem I have is intermittent and can't seem to figure out where it's sourced. The problem is that occasionally, the boat will cut out or Perfect pass will cut out, it seems to be worse when the heater is on, hence the idea of putting relays in place. So, I'll have a low voltage reading on the dash and if I hit a double up, Perfect Pass will cut out or the boat will cut out. I checked every connection in the boat, nothing is loose. So, I'm trying to isolate it best I can.

Perfect Pass needs a constant voltage above a certain value. I don't remember exactly but think it is above 13v. If your voltage source is below the specified value, the PP might not work properly. Also, the PP needs to have a good ground connection. Have you checked that you are tying it to a good ground?

Perfect pass seems to be the most sensitive to the symptoms. I have had the boat cut out on my as well. So, I don't really think it's only related to PP. Really need to do some voltage readings with a volt meter to see what really is going on, don't know the alternator is not providing enough voltage or if it's the voltage from the rear control module.

Wake junky the service bulliten will cure that problem all that is installed is a diode in a harness for the heater or in the ballast tank pump wiring. What happens is the motor spinning down causes a voltage spike to the system and it freakes the system out and shuts off power for a millisecond. the manufacture of the greyhill box changed some thing in the box and it does that, but the update will fix the problem.

nms1991, more details please. I'd rather do this myself than have to bring it in. I'm familiar with the diodes on the tank pumps but, not on the heater.

Same plug and play setup as the pumps only set up to have 4 wires insted of 2. Easy to do just find the plug for the heater motor and plug it in.

To update on my post above, Perfect Pass needs 11.5v. Below is some text regarding trouble-shooting.

Section 8. Trouble Shooting / General Information
A. System not starting up – If the system does not have adequate voltage (about
11.5) the relay in the Master Module will not start, or will start and then quickly
turn off. The other symptom is just Blocks on Screen. In some boats you may
have to have engine running to have adequate voltage (particularly in the spring).
Although your battery may be fine, the voltage level by the time it reaches the
PerfectPass may not be adequate due to corrosion on connectors, etc.
If you suspect poor voltage there are a number of checks to confirm whether this is
the problem.
1. Unplug the gray servo-motor power cable and try turning on key once again.
(If the display becomes active now, this would confirm inadequate voltage.)
2. Try taking the PerfectPass power wire (purple & black ground) directly to
the battery. If it now starts up properly, this would indicate there is a
problem somewhere in the wiring between the battery and the dash board.
3. Check all connections including ground.
B. System not controlling – System comes up to speed, beeps to confirm
engagement, but it runs past set speed.
