    226 fuses & water strainer

2006 226, second owner (not known for technical experience), the horn was intermittent last year and the power feed to the centre ballast pump is dead. Now both horn & pump feed are dead. Other pump feeds are fine, and have switched them onto the centre pump which itself is fine. Circuit breakers under the dash are all good. There is a fuse panel at rear with the switch for the batteries but can't see how to remove any item. Ideas? Brute strength worries me.

Also, any tips for unscrewing an immovable waterstrainer? I suspect it has never been taken off (70 hours on a clean lake), the bracket is not firm and again I'm concerned about too much leverage. How about an oil filter 'spanner'?

Use an oil filter wrench on the water strainer.

I do not know how the horn is wired on a 226, but on my 1997 Ski Nautique, the horn was very random on if it would work, or not. I wired a relay in to the horn circuit, with power wires for the horn going a lot more directly to the battery, ans used the original horn power wires to power the coil in the relay.
    My horn is 100% now.
