Rubrail Pulling Out

My 1990 Sport Nautique has the rubrail that is a rubberized Plastic material. My guess is that over the years it has stretched out a bit and what ever adhesive was used has lost its ability to adhere. When I'm running at cruising speed or pulling people it starts to pull out on the staboard side. It begins where the rubrail curves down to start the platform, and works its way up. It usually pushes back into place pretty easily if I use an open palm.

I have tried a couple silicone adhesives with not much luck, looking for any suggestions on what to use or any methods people have to keep this from happening.

On my 98, it is held in with screws that go through a small backer board on the inside of the hull. I just found the spots where it was sagging, pulled the insert out a bit, pushed the rubrail back into place, and reset the screw.

Yours may be different.
