Anyone know the size of the o ring on 236 water strainer?I have the closed cooling system on the zr6 model year 2008. Like an idiot I was cleaning the strainer which was totally blocked with green algea after only 36 hours.I sealed up the strainer for now with some rtv high temp silicone gasket maker to get through the weekend.Also does anyone know if a clogged strainer will make the tac read POWER REDUCTION SEE DEALER. The tac said this just as I wiped out my wife powerd down and it displayed those nasty words.So I cleaned the strainer I know oil was full even a touch over full.After losing the o ring I sealed the strainer with tape and drove home.The boat seemed fine.

My 236 lost power last weekend as well. Only thing I could find wrong was the strainer clogged. I cleaned it and away we went. I lost power and check engine light came on. I didn't know the tach would display a message. Hope I don't have another issue. I am not at the lake or I would check the gasket for you.

It is a square cut "o" ring. you might not be able to get away with just going to the local hardware store and getting one.Comment
