2007/2008 PCM 343 Thottle Positioning sensor

    Gang,

On my 2008 210 you have to push the thottle a little far to get the RPMs to raise. The boat goes into gear smooth and fine, but to go from 690 RPM to anything above you have to move the thottle about an inch. My other thottle by wire is instance. Any suggestion on fixing the issue?

throttle control not in consistance with gear

looking in the throttle connection link near the air intake of the engine and move the control lever to see there have some thing loose or have play or not, adjust it if need.

We've got two identical 08 196s. One, you have to move the throttle about an inch. The other is almost instantaneous. Almost everybody who drives them likes the one you have to advance the throttle farther on. We'd love to be able to get the one that's instantaneous to slow down it's ramp rate as you advance the throttle.

thanks for the tips, I'll check it out this weekend.

I need to fix these more for the wife, so she can stay consistant in her driving. I also like the instant responce around the dock in case you get into trouble. We often have a lot of current in the river.

How far do you have to advance your throttle from idle lock to engage the transmission? My '06 DBW engaged about an inch out of lock, but the couple of '07's I've driven (including my own) are approx 3 to 4" out of lock. I suppose it's a preference thing, but can this be adjusted?
