'98 Super Sport Stalling above 2500 RPM

Boat runs perfectly until I take it to 2500 RPM then starts cutting out. Gets worse as I give it more gas. Imagine it's the fuel pump or filter? Puzzled as to why it doesn't have any apparent issues until 2500. Is it a pressure thing?
    Thanks!

Also, is this a 351 ford or a 350 gm?

          is the light on?

is it the rev limiter? only ask because 2500 is the cutoff. if you are having issues, the computer will not let the engine get above 2500 rpm. idling and stuff will seem fine. in my case, it was the oil pressure sensor or switch, cant remember.

but 2500 is the rpm limit for what is called "limp mode"
