351 HP

New to the site, hope someone can help me with a couple questions. Looking for the HP of a carbureted 351 HO? Engine was pulled from a 97 SN. I've seen it listed as 260 and 280. Which is it?

Also, curious about the GT-40 heads. Worth it?

I think the HO had GT40 heads but was carb? Or was that the Pro Boss?

I believe that the HO motor is 290 horse. Not sure if it has the GT-40 heads, that would make it a Pro Boss. Check your heads...GT-40 have 3 raised "notches" on the front. The standard heads are only 2 notch. Let us kno what you find.

Yes it is rated at 290 hp, and it does have the GT-40 heads but to be a Proboss it would have to have the Protec ignition system. The engine is equiped with a Prestolite distributor, the heads will also have GT cast into the head.

Thanks for the info. Turns out the heads are GT-40. Not sure on the ignition though--I'll have to check that out.
