The dealer I had been working with for the repair is not the dealer who winterized it. Either way I'm the one stuck with the bill. If the transmission is good and I do the work I'm looking at under $2500 for the repair. Still sucks but much better than $7000

I've learned a valuable lesson on the boating industry that I've long been accustomed to in the auto industry and that's if you want something done right you do it yourself. Needless to say I'll be following PCM's guide to winterizing it myself.

unless a hose wasn't hooked up or plug wasn't installed i don't see winterizing being your issue.

What do you think the issue could be? Leaving the vdrive cooler full of water all winter, cracking, then pouring water inside the drive doesn't seem likely?

If you find that it was freeze damage then I would definitely go after the dealer that winterized the boat. I am guessing that you paid the extra money so it would be done right.

I think you are going to find that the transmission is fine. Let us know when you are back on the water.
