Goofy keypad problem, but suspecting not the keypad

When I bought my boat, I was told the keypad was relaced within a year of me buying it. The first time I took it out, the keypad would not let me enter a code and I was stuck, I switched it off at the battery and turned it back on and it worked. Another day, I was out and it did the same thing, the battery cutoff didnt work though. After about 10 minutes, it worked. The first time out this year, it did the same thing as the previous time out. After that it had been fine.

Fat forward to yesterday, I go across the lake after a fine start and go across the lake. After getting to the spot, the lights for the functioning accessories are on (bilge pump, blower, ballast) but I cannot shut down the ballast pumps or stop the engine. Nothing on the keypad worked, but nothing stopped working that was either. After driving back to the launch just to be safe, I hit the all off switch, and the engien went down and all the lights off. I swithced it on and all normal. I had suspected the keypad but I dont think so anymore. I have a couple ideas but want to see what you all think.

I have had enough of all the little things that have gone wrong. It cant rain all the time, when will it end Anyone want to buy a mint 2003 SANTE with 200 hours?

i Have a 2002 and am having the same problem. Read the post below thats titled "elecrical PROBLEM" My key pad turns off and on and the start button clicks but seems to shut down the entire system as a short kind of thing ...

every one says it could be

1) battery connection
2) unclean ground somewhere
3)fuel or start relay
4)solenoid
5)maybe the keypad itself

Its a tough one. I hate electronic problems ... Ill let you know if I hear anything
