adding a depth guage to 08 210 std

Looking at purchasing an 08 210 std. This boat has the analog guages and therefore doesnt have air/water temp or depth. If I purchase this boat I would like to add a depth guage.

So question is what is best way.
1. Swap out speedo for a digital guage with depth readout. Is the as simple as adding transducer, guage and wiring and will existing speedo sender still work with new guage.
2. Add a separate guage. No spare area in dash. Where would I mount it or what guage would I replace.

Or any other option that you guys could suggest.

I replace my voltmeter with a depth gauge. The perfect pass can read out voltage if needed.

thanks for that mikeski. If i was to replace a gauge the voltmeter would be the one. This boat has zero off do you know if that gives volt readouts
