    95 sport gt-40 Vapor lock

Changed fuel pumps and still have vapor lock. Engine starts when cold and will restart with in first 10 min and then nothing until it cools off. Any thoughts?

I think I read recently here on the forums that there is a ball/check valve in the vent system that can get sticky. IIRC, someone here just posted up a similar prob and the cause was an $11 check valve...

I have a 95 Sport and have been having some issues that make me think it is vapor lock. I replaced the low pressure fuel pump and that was not the problem. Then replaced the high pressure fuel pump which helped out the problem. It still has problems every once in a while, not as bad as it was. I have found if it doesn't want to start I cycle the key on and off about five or six times to build fuel pressure it will start. Maybe I haven't found all of my problem is why i have to cycle it. I have been told that 95 was the only year they used our style fuel system then switched to the FCC system. I think they make a conversion to the FCC system that will help with the vapor lock problem. I hope this helps!

Which pump did you replace? Replacing the LP pump solved my similar problems.

I had similar problem and just replaced the low pressure fuel pump and it is much better. It will sometimes not start when hot on the first try but always by the third attempt.

I am curious as to where the fuel screens are located? I believe there is one in the bottom pickup hose of the tank and then again somewhere either before, between, or after the two fuel pumps.
