New 99 Pro Air prop questions?

    Hi guys,
I got the new toy home last week , 99 pro air with 502 python, factory tower and ballast. I am going through the boat now, and I want to have the original prop serviced, and pick up a new one to use as the primary. Anyone with ideas on what the stock prop is like for this boat setup? Does it make sense to get a new prop that is different in pitch/size from the stocker to try?
Primary use for the boat will be as a "combo" boat, we ski, int./beginner wakeboarding, etc..

Any suggestions on good prop repair places? We're in Charlotte, NC.

    thanks,
    Jack

RE: New 99 Pro Air prop questions?

I have used the stock size on my '99 python and can't imagine needing anything else.....at least you don't need more power or speed!!! The boat pulls like a locomotive and is smooth as can be. It's top speed is great and the low end torque is Right Now. Enjoy your boat, it sounds like a nice set up.

      I have a 99 Sport Nautique (Not a V-drive)

I had some extensive prop damage this past summer. My dealer replaced my original prop with a different one. I don't remember what the specs were on the new one...but, I can tell a significant difference out of the hole with this new prop. I can tell very little impact to the overall high end speed. I suggest to go for the upgrade.....talk to your dealer and see what he suggests. Or call my dealer...MD Boats.

Was just wondering. If you had a line on a performance prop for the hog I was very interested!
